The gemstone of transformation. The rare Tanzanite is a mesmerizing mystical violet-blue, and is said to be a helping hand to get rid of old worn-out patterns and help you manifest your powers for the higher good. The gemstone is mined from a mirage of colors that make up the Merelani Hills at the base of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro. 

Legend has it that it was once a smooth brown peddle on the floor of the volcanic basin of Merlani.  One day, lightning struck and ignited a bush fire.  After the smoke had cleared, a Masai herder found the enigmatic gemstone sparkling in the sun. The gemstone has a trichroic structure, changing colors with every slant of sunlight. It can soften into violet and indigo or deepen into the darkest richest hues of blue. The gemstone is connected to the third eye and throat chakras, and is the birthstone for December.
